The Aigners are on the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center's (OHRC) Speakers Bureau. They, along with a handful of other survivors, visit middle and high schools through-out Oregon and SW Washington to share their experiences during the Holocaust. The ultimate goal is to show the youngsters how important it is to be open and accepting of each other, and learn to work out differences in a non-confrontational manner.
The Oregon Holocaust Resource Center, an educational institution whose purpose is to teach the lessons of the Holocaust, is also the caretaker of the Oregon Holocaust Memorial in Portland's Washington Park. This is one of the few memorials in the country to specifically recognize the gay community as Holocaust victims on the History Wall of the Memorial. The efforts of the OHRC's Speakers Bureau directly affect our community. For more information about OHRC, visit http://ohrc.pacificu.edu.
All reservations are considered final on the Friday prior to the luncheon. Should your schedule prevent you from attending the event we will be requesting payment of the appropriate luncheon cost regardless of whether you are able to participate or not. If you have prepaid your reservation by credit card, it will be charged accordingly. If you have elected to pay by check, you will be invoiced. PABA commits funds based on the number of reservations made through the on-line system and is then obligated to pay for those meals, regardless of the number of people who actually attend the luncheon.
